Nestled in a captivating landscape, Lake Nakuru Lodge is located in the heart of one of Kenya’s most densely animal-populated wetland National Parks, just a leisurely two-hour drive from Nairobi. The journey takes you through picturesque forested uplands, passing several lakes along the way.
Lake Nakuru National Park, situated approximately 164 kilometers from Nairobi, boasts a gentle undulating terrain adorned with open bush and woodlands, typical of the dry rift valley vegetation. The park comprises 27% of Lake Nakuru’s waters, surrounded by an area dedicated exclusively to wildlife conservation. The land in the catchment area serves purposes such as agriculture, forestry, and ranching. Established as a National Park in 1961, the park has been expanded over the years to 188 km², creating a perimeter buffer zone to safeguard the lake from encroachment and minimize the impacts of urban and agricultural development in the immediate catchment. In 1983, the park was declared a rhino sanctuary.

Following breakfast, embark on a journey to the renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve, where you’ll arrive in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge or a similar accommodation. An afternoon game drive awaits, offering you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the extraordinary wildlife of the reserve. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.
The Masai Mara, often referred to as Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserve, is located in southwest Kenya. Stretching across 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and elevating 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level, the Masai Mara National Reserve showcases a terrain dominated by grassland and riverine forest, adorned with clusters of distinctive acacia trees. Approximately 270 km from Nairobi, it takes about 5-6 hours by road or 40-45 minutes by flight.
The Maasai Mara Ecosystem boasts one of the world’s highest lion densities, and it’s the stage for the annual migration of over TWO MILLION Wildebeest, Zebra, and Thomsons Gazelle. Home to over 95 species of mammals and 570 recorded species of birds, the reserve promises an unparalleled safari experience.
