Enjoying Game Drive at Serengeti National Park
As soon as you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your professional driver will be there to meet and greet you. Then, you’ll be transferred to the Hotel, where you’ll spend the night. This is the starting point of your incredible adventure to witness the Serengeti Wildebeest Migration.
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and after registration, you will descend to the Crater Floor. You will do a full day of game drives at the floor and have a picnic lunch at the Hippo poolside picnic site. After lunch you will continue with game drives in the Crater floor in search of the rhinos, elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, gerenuks, etc. Ngorongoro Crater is also famous for bird life and at the Lake Makat in the middle of the crater floor you can see, flamingos, pelicans Egyptian geese, and many more aquatic species. Other birds include the hammer kop, Lilac breasted rollers weavers and many more.
After breakfast, we will head to the Lake Ndutu area, situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation area, part of the Southern Serengeti Eco-syste. Lake Ndutu is alkaline, like most of the other Rift lakes however the water is still drinkable and used by a wide array of local wildlife. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The Area is usually heavily populated with elephants, birds and resident game.
After breakfast, enjoy a full game drive in the Ndutu Area. Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. See great heard of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time, frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young are easy pickings for a variety of predator. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days, they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd.
After breakfast we head towards the central Serengeti National Park, also known as the Seronera. We descend into the heart of wild Africa-the Serengeti National Park-with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.
On this day you will spend your time at the Serengeti plains doing game drives. Here you have the choice to do the early morning game drives if you so wish. This will give you the chance to see nocturnal species retire from a night out as well as the diurnal majority waking up for a new day.
After breakfasts we will have en route game drive while drive out of Serengeti National Park via Naabil gate pass through Ngorongoro Conservation Area and head to Arusha and this will be the end of your Safari.
We will transfer you from the hotel to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) where you will fly back home. If you will have more time you can extend your tour to Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, but additional cost will be required.
