You will be picked up from the airport by Oribi Safaris representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come.

With a stop at the historic archaeological site of the Olduvai Gorge, today’s journey is through the Rift Valley to the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park. Enjoy the multitude of animal and bird life in the area as you search for the Big Five across the vast expanse of grassland.

Depart early from Arusha to travel across to the world famous Serengeti, one of Africa’s premier game parks. Embark on an a sunrise hot air balloon safari. Launching as the sun rises, you gently float over the plains of the magnificent Serengeti.

Your Balloon Safari adventure starts early morning when you depart your lodge or camp. It is still dark and you may be fortunate to see nocturnal animals on the way to the launch site.

When you arrive, you will meet your pilot and witness your balloon being inflated and prepared for launch.

After a thorough safety briefing and demonstration of boarding and landing position you board your balloon and lift off! Rising as the sun rises your balloon floats in whatever direction the winds of the day are heading over this wonderful area.

Your pilot will use varying altitudes and layers of air to navigate the balloon over this amazing area. Each day is different, some of the flight may be low, offering a different perspective and at other times your balloon may climb to 1000’ or more.

Nobody can predict, no two flights are ever the same and your balloon safari will be unique.

After landing, you celebrate in the traditional way with a champagne toast (well, an excellent sparkling wine) before heading off to a special ‘Out of Africa’ breakfast. Breakfast is prepared in the bush and served under a convenient acacia tree. Linen, bone china, Sheffield cutlery and freshly prepared fare in the company of your fellow passengers makes a memorable finale to your adventure.

After breakfast, you are taken to the rendezvous point to meet with your driver guide and continue your day’s activities.

Depart early and enjoy a full day game drive in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After an early breakfast, depart the Serengeti to continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a full day of game viewing. The rich pasture and permanent water of the crater floor supports a resident population of more than 20,000 to 25,000 large mammals. They are not confined by the crater walls, and can leave freely; they stay because conditions are favorable. Since most of the crater floor is grassland, grazing animals dominate: zebra, gazelles, buffalo, eland, and warthogs. The swamp and forest provide additional resources for hippos, some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos, giant-tusked elephants, waterbucks, reedbucks and bushbucks, baboons, and vervet monkeys. All these animals in turn support large predators such as the lion and leopard, and scavengers such as hyenas and jackals.
